Seeing the woman,
beyond her image.

The face up close,
black and white to reveal
a presence, an identity, a woman.

A play of depth of field, in order to "reveal" the woman photographed, highlighting her individuality, her personality, her originality.

The opportunity for the viewer to enter the intimacy of a gaze, leaving them "face to face with her". Images to identify and recognise, but also to identify with, to recognise oneself…

The community of Muslim people is heterogeneous and diverse. It is crucial to have a global vision, neither biased nor reductive. Through this work, photography becomes a language — a social, cultural and linguistic response to the complexity of identity.

This exhibition highlights an invisible and often unrecognised handicap by proposing a new language based on portraiture. Raising viewers' awareness of the reality of Muslim women in Geneva, their journeys, their struggles, their joys.
